Fudge Shop cookies dipped in Salsa Con Queso.
- Sounds gross, right? Wrong. It's super tasty. You have that salty/sweet thing going on. So good!
Hot Pepper and Onion relish cream cheese dip on toast.
- Real easy: One brick of cream cheese, one jar of Sweet and Hot Pepper and Onion relish, Dickinsons. You can either cut the heat by spreading on top of another layer of cream cheese (on your toast, bagel, english muffin, whatever. Or spread it by itself.
Swedish fish dipped in nutella.
-Self explanatory. Yum.
Bacon and feta cheese on triskets.
-Your basic salty and savory snack. You can make the bacon in the microwave.
Feta and jam on crackers.
-I like to use apricot. Oooooh yeah, it's delicious.
Most of these I still like to make, usually paired with some tea. Try them yourselves!

Making a Proper Cup of tea
So far the best cup of tea I've ever made has been done what many Americans call "the proper British way" which basically means with boiling water rather than just heated in a microwave. Here's how I do it.
Making the tea:
Making the tea:
- Can be done with or without tea pot.
- Boil fresh water (ie water that has not been sitting around) in a kettle or saucepan.
- When it has come to a rolling boil, pour the water over your tea bag into either your cup or a teapot. I prefer the tea pot but that's just because I have a nice set. You may also use loose leaf tea.
- The boiling water is important as the temperature releases all of the good flavoring.
- A good long steep is in order, around 5 or 6 minutes for a black tea, 4 to 5 for green or herbal.
- Remove your bag or strain your leaves. If you let the bag sit as you drink your tea wil become bitter.
Adding to taste:
- Now, in much of Britain black tea is made with milk and sugar, known as builders tea. There's been debate over milk first or milk last and honestly it depends on where I am. When I have no tea pot I have to make it milk last, as my tea is being made in my cup. If i have my tea pot I add my milk and sugar first and then pour my tea over top. I like milk first the best.
- Add milk and sugar to your own taste, a splash of milk and a spoon of sugar is usually enough for me.
- For greens and herbals I don't recommend adding milk. It's weird. Sugar will do though. Again, usually just the one spoonful for me.
If you like, you can make your tea in the microwave but I tend not to do that anymore. The hotter the water, the better my tea, and I can't seem to make microwaving my tea work. Still, make it how you like, you're the one drinking it!

Cheesy Avacado BLT
Hey guys! Welcome to my first food post. This is one of my favorite sandwiches I and it's so easy to make.
I'm not a big fan of tomatoes because they tend to get soggy (especially in a dorm room) so when I was looking for replacement I found avocado. Avocados are soft enough on the inside that it requires very little effort to slice which makes it ideal if you're using plastic silverware.
Because there's no tomato it would be hard to call it a BLT, right? Wrong, because I like my BLTs on toast! So there's your T!
Here's my recipe for a Cheesy Avocado BLT:
- Bread (duh), toasted.
- Fresh avocado, one half.
- Mayo
- Cheese, I like shredded taco or sharp cheddar but you can use your favorite.
- Bacon, 2 slices.
- Lettuce.
I usually start off with the bacon because it takes the longest. Cover a microwave safe plate with a paper towel and put your bacon on it. Then cover that with a second paper towel and microwave for about 2 minutes.
While that's going you'll want to toast your bread (if desired) and slice your avocado. Avocados are sliced longways guys! Otherwise it becomes a pain in your butt!
To make peeling your avocado half easier you can slide a knife around the edge to loosen it. The avocado is soft so it should be easy. Then peel.
Pretty, isn't it? Now you can slice it into pieces. Some people like full slices but I'm partial to wedges. It also leaves a little extra to snack on. Taste away, my friends!
Spread your mayo on your toasted bread. I like to spread on both sides and put my avocado on next.
Then comes your cheese. Sprinkle on top of your avocado! Use whatever amount you desire, it's your masterpiece! There's no such thing as too much cheese!
Take out your bacon and break it into smaller pieces. Assemble the rest of your sandwich, first the bacon and then the lettuce.
Put your sandwich together and eat! Who needs a boring sandwich when you can have this? Want to spice it up? Use chipotle mayo!
TASTY!

A New Beginning
Hey all!
This is my new blog. You may have seen me over at The Book Nut where I talk books. Well there's one thing I love almost as much and that's food. I make some really weird creations, some I learned in college and some were just experiments. Sometimes they're good and sometimes not but they're always fun. Here I'm going to show you my strange concoctions, they may look strange but most of the time they're pretty tasty.
